The Open-Source Risk Modelling effort began with a workshop held at the HP campus in Cupertino California in March 2005.  The meeting was orgainised by the Risk Prediction Initiative with the help of the Southern Claifornia Earthquake Center, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Hewlett Packard, the Western Disaster Center and Risk Management Solutions.  view workshop information...

During the workshop 11 speakers presented topics relating to issues of model development and the implications of an open-source approach.  view agenda...

A white paper has been drafted to present the need, challenges, advantages and issues of developing an open-source risk model.  view white paper...

This website has been created to allow the community to have input to the development of an open-source risk model.  Here we can share ideas, post comments, commence and continue discussions on particular topics and (hopefully in the near future) upload and share code, model components and anything else you think beneficial. view instructions for using this website...
